Nehawu Strike – Land Affairs offices closed

The Land Affairs office is apparently closed at Saveways Centre.

The national Nehawu strike is continuing and protestors are demonstrating in front of the Land Affairs office at Saveways Crescent Centre.

 

Nehawu regional secretary emphasised that the strike is not a health strike, but a public service strike

On Friday, March 10 public services workers consisting of doctors, nurses,

 

Home Affairs and Sassa employees took were protesting demanding a 10% wage increase.

 

Regional secretary for Nehawu, Sydney Mahlaba emphasised that the trike is not a health strike, but a public service strike that is driven by the negligence of the employer by implementing a 3% wage increase instead of 10%. 

 

Residents are also made aware that there are currently two strikes ongoing in eMalahleni as TUT students are also striking because of various concerns and are moving up to the satellite campus in OR Tambo Street.
