Six players from eMalahleni ready to ‘bowl’ Highveld over
The top four teams will now play against Highveld at Secunda this coming weekend.
The past weekend the Central Zone Mixed Pairs bowls were played at Witbank Golf Bowling Club and Witbank Bowling Club.
The mercury, touching 32 degrees on Saturday, January 21 and Sunday, January 22 did not deter the bowlers.
Some excellent bowls were played by all the teams.
The final on Sunday had its fair share of nail-biting moments and some breathless shots.
Monica Gilbert and Eras Bezuidenhout won the competition.
They play for Witbank Golf Bowling Club.
Louise and Nico Maritz from Middelburg Stadium came in second, Micus and Elizmari Grech from Witbank Bowling Club third and
Pieter du Preez and Max van der Westhuizen also from Witbank Bowling Club fourth.
The top four teams will now play against Highveld at Secunda this coming weekend where the four winning teams will then qualify to play against Lowveld for Mpumalanga colours.
