Protest action on the N4 disrupts early morning traffic

Vosman Police are on the scene, monitoring the situation after N4 road blockade this morning.

Emalahleni motorists were encouraged to use alternative routes after the N4 was closed down with burning tyres by protestors earlier this morning.

Ms Solange Soares spokesperson for TRAC did inform WITBANK news that the road has since been cleared for motorists to use, “We are unaware of the reason behind the road closure, however, we would like to encourage motorists who wish to use the road to proceed with caution,” Soares informed.

Vosman Police are monitoring the situation between Kromdraai and Mathews Phosa on the N4.

Captain Elizebeth Mkaudi, spokesperson for Vosman SAPS said, “We can confirm the road closure due to the strike this morning. Although we are unclear as to why we suspect it relates to the service delivery experienced by residents. The road is now clear for motorists to use, and members of the Public Order Policing (POPS) are on the scene and can confirm crown has left. Motorists can proceed,” Mkaudi confirmed.
