New Life Children’s Home in need of help

New Life Children’s Home receives much needed donations.

The New Life Children’s Home was blessed by the community with an amazing infrastructure, but there is more that needs to be done and improved on.

Many of the donations go directly into food and necessities for the children.

The children’s home was founded in 2016 and has helped a lot of destitute kids find a safe place.

Currently, the home is housing 21 kids, even though it can house up to 36 children from any age up to 12 years, but that is because of a lack of funding.

The funding coordinator Ms Lana Fourie said that she would like to thank everybody that helps the home financially, but more is needed since the children’s home is dependent on private funds.

“If I show up at your place of business to ask for donations, please open your door and heart with a smile. And please support us, because we require everybody’s help. We would also like to thank all the businesses and private parties that are helping us look after these kids”.

Regarding the infrastructure and being in charge of maintenance, Mr Arthur Smit said that the building, being containers, requires much more upkeep than a normal brick building would.

This cry was heard by members of the Koning-Makriel Diepsee Hengelklub who donated the proceeds of R35 000 from a fishing competition they hosted on August 27 at Loskop Dam.

“We are challenging the public to match or exceed the amount raised,” said Mr Wolle Prinsloo, an organiser and member of the club.
