Four lives were tragically lost on the N12 this past weekend

Three 16-year-old teenagers were discovered in the overturned vehicle.

Two separate accidents claimed the lives of four people over the weekend.

According to the spokesperson of Phola Police Station, Sergeant Thabang Ntuli, one of the accidents occurred on the N12 near the eMalahleni West off-ramp (near Phola) on September 4.

Police who were patrolling discovered an overturned red Polo Vivo at around 01:45.

According to Ntuli, the patrolling officers approached the vehicle and discovered three 16-year-old occupants, two of which sadly lost their lives.

Two more lives were taken in another accident involving three vehicles near the S-bent curve toward eMalahleni. Bophelo Emergency Medical Services transported two occupants of one of the vehicles involved to Witbank General Hospital.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident, and the two deceased have not been formally identified yet.
