Protest in front of municipality peaceful so far

Residents are voicing their anger toward the attorneys appointed by the municipality to collect bad debt.

Residents embarked on a protest action in front of the municipal office to show their anger toward a local attorney appointed to collect debt on behalf of the Emalahleni Local Municipality.

The Executive Mayor of Emalahleni addressed the protestors.

There is a strong police presence on the scene.

Mr Matthews Hlabane, who is the protest organiser, said the protest will remain peaceful.

“We just want the mayor to hear our voice,” Hlabane said.
