Beware of ‘electricity scammers’ lurking on social media

Scammers seek for their next victim, don't be next!

The Emalahleni Local Municipality would like to warn residents about a scam that they have identified.

The scammers claim that they are from ‘Buy and Sell’ and they persuade residents to buy electricity tokens or points from them.

The municipality warns all resident to not fall into the trap of these faceless scammers.

The local municipality urges residents to pay for their pre-paid electricity at accredited local stores and filling stations.

The public is encouraged to report corruption to the municipality by calling013 690 6222/333/444.
