Police looking for suspects after the safe inside a filling station in KwaGuqa was bombed

The incident caused estimated damage of approximately a million rand.

A filling station at Costas was allegedly bombed on Sunday, May 22 in KwaGuqa after five robbers held all employees at gunpoint.

According to the police, two suspects were armed with firearms and one with an iron bar.

The suspects planted explosives in the safe and chased all the employees to the kitchen.

While in the kitchen, the employees heard a huge explosion and smoke filled the shop.

It is alleged that the robbers took some personal belongings of two victims, as well as an undisclosed amount of cash from the tills.

A case of business robbery and malicious damage to property has been opened for investigation.

Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is asked to contact detective Colonel Helen Masombuka at 082 303 9938.
