Rising star shares more about his life

The 26-year-old talented Sfiso, better known as “Kideo poet” tell us about his success in poetry.

Sfiso Matshia, from Vosman, is a lifetime artist who has been hosted by South African companies and countries to participate in international competitions.

He began as a comedian and is now a poet, the founder of an entertainment company named, “Word World Solutions” and poetry word world, a life coach, and a business administrator. People describe him as a shy, introverted and kind individual who serves as an inspiration to many people in eMalahleni.

The 26-year-old talented Sfiso, better known as “Kideo poet” tell us about his success in poetry.

He explained that it all began in 2009, during a Life Orientation period at school, when a teacher gave them the title, ‘I am an African’.

“I surprisingly recited the poem as the third act,” he said.

He said the teacher had to persuade them and explain what he was looking for when he said poetry, and that they formed a group called ‘Pofutibility’ at school and began performing from that point, where they won their first award at the civic theatre the same year. Some of his achievements were the Emalahleni Art Festival 2009 and AMO Mpumalanga awards for the best poet in 2018.

What motivated him to embark on the journey? He said that it was people’s daily lives and the response given by those who listen to his poems, able to define the fact that he is not a star and does not exist without the support of the public.

“The stories I frequently see from my surroundings needed to be told as I use my voice to tell them,” he added. In the future, he hopes to visit schools and inspire students to create content that will be remembered in 2022, and record poems as audio and video.

He hopes to persuade many people that art is more than just a hobby; it is a profession in which anyone can make a living.

He added that a book he is working on called, ‘Born a divine sperm,’ will be released soon, expect an amazing lesson that will stretch your imagination and teach you about self-discovery.

Sfiso is not only a poet, but also has the best interest at heart of the people in eMalahleni as he gives back to the community through assistance of companies, communities, and organisations every month, visiting orphanages and needy families, drawing on his diverse life experiences.

“The support given is appreciated, for the love is noticed. God bless us all as we strive for greatness,” he concluded.
