All roads lead to the Miss Kriel Teen crowning

The third annual pageant will grace Ga-Nala on Saturday, May 28.

Kriel teenagers are cleaning up their acts as they get ready for the Miss Kriel Teen crowning.

Nomcebo Mahlalela, who is the current reigning Miss Kriel Teen, will hand over her crown to another queen in Kriel.

The third annual crowning will take place at the Kriel Community Hall in Kriel on Saturday, May 28.

Glitz and glamour will be the order of the day as the contestants will be fulfilling a journey filled with opportunities.

Twelve contestants have entered for the pageant for 2022 and are more than ready to represent their community.

The contestants have been undergoing mentorship and training since March and have been shaping their craft in the modelling industry.

Sibonsile Mahlangu, who started the project and is also coaching the contestant, says the aim of the pageant is to educate, cultivate and empower young girls from her community.

“The girls will be involved in a lot of charity work, including food donations and winter packs that will be given to the vulnerable in the community. The girls are eager to get involved in community work and also the night of the crowning,” added Sibonsile.

The 12 contestants will prove that pageants aren’t only about beauty, but also intelligence. These are the contestants that have entered for the 2022 Miss Kriel Pageant are: Ambesiwe Makhwenkwe, Rebirth Emihle Khumalo, Palesa Masinga, Mbali Zigalala, Awethu Maseko, Charity Mphande, Ondela Zazayokwe, Nthandoyethu Mbokane, Mbali Zulu, Hailey Segapu, Fanele Tshabangu, and Lethabo Makeke.
