Armed robbers shot and killed the driver of a Nissan NP200 at a robot in Middelburg. The victim was Jose da Silva a respected business owner who lived in Middelburg.
The hijacking took place on Wednesday, June 25. They took the victim’s car after leaving his body next to the road where he was shot.
According to Witbank SAPS the vehicle was recovered on Thursday evening in Klarinet when a resident reported the abandoned vehicle to the police. It was completely burnt out.
Middelburg police confirmed on Friday that it was the same vehicle that had been stolen.
It was apparently taken back to Middelburg SAPS for further investigation.
