Bus driver allegedly damages gravestones in Pretoria Memorial Park Cemetery
A Pal bus allegedly damaged about three gravestones at the Pretoria Memorial Park Cemetery.
According to witnesses, a bus driver damaged several gravestones at the Pretoria Memorial Park Cemetery when making a u-turn on the premises.
The incident happened at about 10:33 on Friday, March 18.
The allegations are that the bus driver was very rude when he was made to notice what he has done. He did not have the courtesy to stop and it shows that he knew what he has done.
About three or four gravestones were damaged by the driver according to the witnesses. The registration number of the bus is known according to the people who witnessed the incident.
A questionnaire was sent to Pal Bus Services and Ms Sonja Didloff, financial manager said they are treating the matter in a serious manner and they would do an investigation.
They also asked for the contact numbers of the witnesses.
“We see this incident in a very serious light and a quotation has been obtained to repair the three graves as soon as possible. The case has been submitted to our insurance and we contacted the municipality as well. Rest assured that we pride ourselves on good service to our community and this is an unfortunate incident that happened,” said Ms Didloff.
