Johannes fighting his way to the top at EFC

Wrestling quickly changed into extreme fighting as he directed his wrestling experience.

Professional knockout fighter, the 26-year old Johannes Rudolph literally fought for what he wanted in life.

This young man will soon take part in the Extreme Fighting Africa Championships (EFC).

Johannes was born in the small town of Delmas and shortly afterwards he relocated with his family to the eMalahleni.

“I always participated in any kind of sport, due to my love for sport in general but at the age of 12 I found my passion….. wrestling,” he said.

Wrestling quickly changed into extreme fighting as he directed his wrestling experience and transitioned into Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

“I joined a local MMA club when I was 16-years old and soon after that my MMA career kicked off,” he added.

Although he has such a great passion for extreme fighting, there’s a method behind this madness.

“This type of sport gives encouragement and it directed me to train juniors at the club I was part of at that time. I have a total of 17 amateur fights behind me, under the guidance of the club but unfortunately, the club closed their doors.”

But as the saying goes; “when one door closes another one opens…” and this was exactly what happened to him as he joined another club, XKT in Middelburg.

His Sensei, Pieter de Klerk immediately took him under his wing and improved this talented fighter’s skills and soon after he became an amateur to be reckoned with.

“In October last year my whole world changed as I signed my contract with EFC Africa and I started my professional fighting career,” he proudly said.

Johannes’ first pro-debut for Extreme Fighting Africa Championships will be taking place on April 9 at EFC93 and tickets are available on EFC Worldwide Web.

“After a long amateur career, I finally get a chance to showcase my skills on the biggest stage in Africa. I have been preparing for this for a long time and I can’t be more excited. A huge thank you goes out to all my sponsors for making it possible for me to compete at this event. Thank you to my coaches and gym partners for investing the time in me this last couple of months… The time is almost here!” he excitedly concluded.
