Man wounded by suspects during house robbery

Four men walked into Masango's house and demanded money from him.

House robbery suspects are on the loose after shooting and injuring their latest victim.

Mr Doctor Masango had to fight seven men who had ambushed his house, with the aim of robbing him.

On Sunday, March 6, as Masango was relaxing at home, seven unknown men allegedly drove into his yard. Four men walked in and demanded money.

Masango stood up and started fighting the men.

Masango’s girlfriend who also lives with him was apparently outside in the shop that the pair owns.

Two of the men were armed and one fired shots in the air, and on the floor.

“I think they saw that they could not fight me back, so one of them shot me in my right foot,” said Masango.

The suspects then ran out of the house and got into a getaway car.

Masango said that even though he didn’t see the car, he heard the sound of a bakkie leaving.

He added that this house robbery has affected him as he is unable to work properly because of his injured foot.

“This does not make me happy at all. I feel very bad and I don’t feel safe in my own house,” added Masango.

Masango was taken to hospital for his injury and a case of house robbery was opened at the Phola Police Station.

No arrests have been made.
