Lebese eyeing more goals

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Lebese says he is hoping to be a bigger threat in the final third of the pitch during the upcoming 2014/15 season.

The skilful and pacey player has featured regularly for Amakhosi for the past two seasons but has failed to up his contribution in the goal-scoring department.

However, he believes he showed his potential during the final stages of the campaign as he managed to score a brace during a Nedbank Cup quarterfinal, to add to the two league goals that he scored.

“I think I found my scoring boots last season and it’s always good dishing out good performances and getting on the score sheet,” he told the club’s website.

“I’m more confident and I’m looking to continue where I left off at the end of last season.”

Lebese continues to be a crowd favourite and is currently in the Amakhosi starting lineup for the Carling Black Label Cup clash against rivals Orlando Pirates with almost 200 000 votes.

“Thanks to the supporters for the vote of confidence in us and for being passionate about this cup competition,” he said. “The Carling Cup is always exciting and we are all looking forward to entertaining the supporters and retaining our cup.”
