Gabadinho unsure of Chiefs interest

Bloemfontein Celtic striker, Frank Mhango, says he was unaware of Kaizer Chiefs’ reported bid to secure his signature and claimed he learnt about it from his teammates.

The 2013 Absa Premiership champions were said to have made a bid for the Malawian striker as they turned their attention to him as a back-up plan.

Chiefs have repeatedly voiced their eagerness to retain Knowledge Musona’s services on a permanent deal, but after seeing talks with Hoffenheim hit a stutter it seems unlikely the Zimbabwean will be at Naturena next season.

Gabadinho, as he is affectionately known, showed some tremendous form with Celtic last season, where he scored eight goals as they finished sixth on the league table.

And when asked by AfricanFootball whether he had in fact been approached by the Soweto giants, Gabadinho denied the claims.

“I don’t know anything about that. I just heard from my teammates that they read about it,” said the striker.
