Vaccination drive during Methodist worship service

When you vaccinate, you are showing love to your neighbour, loved ones, and to strangers.

We are challenged by the uncertainties and miseries of innumerable people who are infected and affected by the spread of the novel coronavirus.

Some have died, some have survived it, some are still suffering the aftermath results of it, unfortunately, we have those who are currently in isolation and in hospitals fighting this brutality of Covid-19.

Covid-19 has disturbed the order of life immensely, the social well-being, economic well-being, mental well-being and physical well-being has been immensely shaken by Covid-19.

Christmas season is a season of giving generously, sacrificially to other people, a season of embracing and showing love; the best gift we can give to each other, is to get the Covid-19 vaccine.

Caring for each other, being compassionate towards each other, and being loving towards each other.

It is a gospel imperative for all those who claim to be Christians, it is one of our Godly values to be in love, show love and act in love. The Greatest Commandment given by Jesus Christ to all of us was: “To love our neighbours as we love ourselves,” Matthew 22:39.

When you vaccinate, you are showing love to your neighbour, showing love to your loved ones, and showing love to strangers.

On Sunday, December 12, the Witbank Methodist Church will be hosting the Department of Health to do vaccinations for Covid-19 at the church hall between 09:30 ‒ 13:00.

People attending the two services (08:30 and 10:00) and who have not been vaccinated will have an opportunity to be vaccinated.

“You won’t wait for a long time in queues, you can invite your friends, family and colleagues to come and get their jab. I encourage all Methodist people in eMalahleni, Bronkhorstspruit, Enkangala, and Zithobeni to carefully consider vaccinating. I am looking forward to seeing both old and young, Methodists and Non-Methodists, Christians and Non-Christians, coming together to take a responsible decision by vaccinating,” said Rev. Phezile Koekoe.

Witbank Methodist Church is located at 1 Louise Street, Del Judor, opposite Engine Garage.
