Ajax’s Alexander joins Polokwane City

Ajax Cape Town midfielder Cole Alexander has once again been deemed surplus to requirements at Ikamva, but Polokwane City have moved fast to snap him up.

The 24-year-old hard-running central midfielder will join Rise and Shine ahead of the new 2014/15 Absa Premiership campaign following a season spent mainly on the sidelines.

Alexander is not stranger to moving around. He has enjoyed successful loan spells to Vasco da Gama and Chippa United in previous years.

Last season at Ajax he struggled with a knee injury that limited him to just 11 appearances for the Urban Warriors.

Polokwane City, who recently preserved their top-flight status by edging out Milano United and Black Leopards in the PSL play-offs, have been recruiting several new players.

Alexander joins the likes of new arrivals Benson Mhlongo, Tlou Molekwane and Rendani Ndou.
