Expect dry taps on Tuesday : Municipality carries out maintenance to reduce water losses

Witbank Central Business District (CBD), Witbank Ext.1 to 12, portion of Del Judor Proper, Del Judor Ext., portion of Die Heuwel Proper, Die Heuwel Ext.8, portion of Fransville and Saveways Crescent Shopping centre will not have water on Tuesday, September 28.
Emalahleni Local Municipality is planning water outages at point B tower to carry out some maintenance works on the bulk supply line.
The outage is planned from 08:00 until 20:00.
The works to be carried out includes amongst others the tieing of the newly installed UPVC pipes at Witbank Ext.8 and the replacement of a 500 mm isolation valve on the corner of Churchill and Woltemade Street.
The planned activities are part of the recommendations contained in the Water Conservation and Water Demand Management strategic document to reduce water losses.
“All affected house owners and businesses are requested to make necessary arrangements to endure this inconvenience for the period stated below. Water trucks will be available only for hospitals, clinics and the police station,” said Mr Lebo Mofokeng, municipal spokesperson.
Consumers are kindly requested not to utilise water from their geysers during periods of no water, as this will cause problems when the water is turned on again.
