Blanchville residents wake up to dry taps again

Blanchville is without water daily amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.

Not a day has gone past this week where water disruptions have not been reported on Ward 20’s WhatsApp group.

When asked why this area suffers without water for days on end Cllr Roy Cronje said it is because of old infrastructure.

He mentioned that he has been driving up and down in the ward to make notes of all the water leaks in the area.

“Water leaks have been reported to the relevant departments daily, but they responded and told me a leaking water meter is not a priority now, major pipe bursts are,” Cronje said.

The team is currently on-site working on fixing the burst pipe in front of Laerskool Panorama.

Water is expected back by late this afternoon.
