KwaGuqa Wellness Centre is on a dynamic mission to cater to the needy through a soup kitchen this winter.

KwaGuqa Wellness Centre in partnership with Zoe Rooted Ministries is currently hosting a ‘Winter Soup Kitchen for the Needy’.

The kitchen is running on Fridays from 16:00 until 17:00 at Zoe Rooted Ministries. This program began on Friday, June 11, and will end on Friday, August 27.

Members of the community are kindly requested to donate food items like vegetables, meaty bones, soup, and bread to help make the program a success. Donations of clothing items will also be welcomed, and be given to the needy.

Anyone who would like to donate can contact Nomusa at 0734539326, or can alternatively drop the items at Zoe Rooted Ministries which is located at Ext.4, Ezinambeni, next to Siphosensimbi clinic.

KwaGuqa Wellness Centre is a registered non-profit organisation founded by Nomusa Simela in 2016 to address socio-economic challenges faced by the eMalahleni community.

Some of the initial aims of the organisation are to develop a facility that will be dedicated towards the promotion of healthy living as well as the prevention of illnesses, and also to provide strategies and training programs related to health care.

They are committed to providing a holistic approach to the wellbeing of the people of eMalahleni.

This is evident through the various initiatives they have embarked on over the years which include, enterprise development projects, food parcels distribution, employment accelerating programs, back to school initiatives, and the dignity pack drives.

“Through running this initiative we hope to restore the spirit of Ubuntu in communities as this initiative gives a platform to anyone who wishes to play a role in becoming a part of the solution. We encourage people out there to come on board and offer any form of assistance towards the success of this beautiful initiative. We believe a lot still needs to be done as we continue addressing various social challenges faced by the community every day,” Nomusa told WITBANK NEWS.

Through this initiative, the organisation wants to send a strong message that the organisation is a centre of hope, dignity, and restoration.

It is due to limited resources that the centre is not able to run this every day, but it can be possible if members of the society can reach out in numbers.
