The certification aimed to empower them to be self-aware, to focus on their visions and to have a purpose in life.

The ceremony was held at the centre on Friday, June 11.

The following topics were covered intensively during their course study:

Body parts, gender-based violence (GBV), all types of abuse, sexual health, healthy and unhealthy relationships, contraceptives and managing finances.

Other programmes that were dealt with are GBV behaviour change campaigns, sexual and reproduction health programmes, skills development programmes, economic empowerment programmes, positive parenting, life skills plus ICT programmes (computer training) and entrepreneurship programmes.

“We are calling on the youth to utilise our free service at the centre and our weekly programmes are held during office hours from 09:00 to 16:00. Those interested in assisting can drop in from Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 or email: khanyacommunitytheatre@gmail.com,” said Mr Percy Maseko.
