Jacob Jappie Mashiyane aims to create jobs by his electricity distribution board box and bulb holders he has invented

Jacob, who resides in Clewer aims to create job opportunities for people of South Africa with his electricity distribution board, bulb holders, and a flat suffix twin and earth that he has invented.

He believes that these products he has invented will be a big breakthrough for South Africa as a whole especially in fighting the challenge of load shedding because he has noticed that many people have lost their businesses and jobs due to this issue of electricity shortage.

Jacob said it pains him to see the youth scatted all over because there are no job opportunities and what scares him is that the youth is now involved in wrong things like crime, drugs, and other shady things which are not good.

Many people in Clewer see Jacob as their hero and some still do not believe that an old man like him could think of something like this because it’s rare to have an old person like him, having a sharp mind and being able to innovate in such an extreme way like inventing something that could solve almost all electricity problems that South Africa is facing.

The youth prays that Jacob could be noticed by other people in the world and be able to invest in his products because that would make South Africa a better country and it will help in limiting crime because many people would be working.

“I used to visit RDP and bond houses around the area when I’m free and from what I usually see, I believe that almost all these houses are wrongfully connected because most of the time people come to me to ask if I could re-connect them in a right manner to avoid electrical blast due to wrong connections,” said Jacob.

Jacob urges the Department of Human Settlement and the Department of Energy to approve his products so that people could get jobs and be able to provide for their families.

According to the acting deputy director-general of the Department of Human Settlement, Ms Nonhlanhla Buthelezi they are well aware of Mr Mashiyane’s invention, but as Human Settlement, they cannot approve them because they only deal with housing, not electricity.

Therefore this issue has to be taken to the Department of Energy because it’s the relevant department that deals with electricity.

Ms Nonhlanhla further said that she advises Mr Mashiyane to visit the Department of Energy and the Department of Labour regarding his products.
