Trees are important

Ms Annerie Weber from the Democratic Alliance rolled up her sleeves and planted a tree.

The Democratic Alliance provincial deputy spokesperson on Environment Forestry and Fisheries visited eMalahleni, rolled up her sleeves and planted a tree.

On Friday, March 26 Ms Annerie Weber joined members of the DA at Highveld House in De Kock Street, where they planted three indigenous trees in the house’s grounds.

This forms part of a project that Ms Weber is co-ordinating throughout Mpumalanga to promote the planting of trees.

“Through this campaign, the DA is trying to sensitise citizens that every citizen has a role to play in the fight against climate change. Every tree planted contributes to the provision of oxygen in the atmosphere. Trees are been cut down for commercial purposes and are not being replaced,” said Mr Clive Hatch, chairman of the Democratic Alliance.

Ms Weber appealed to everyone to plant trees as their contribution to the fight against climate change.
