Invitation for single parents to join support group
She intends to start a support group and is looking for single parents around eMalahleni who wants to be part of the support group
Her name is Magracia Nhlapho, she is a single mother of two boys.
“I was left by my baby’s dad. I was judged by the world because I have two children, and I am not married, I was depressed in such a way that I couldn’t voice out because I was also judged by some of my family members and friends.”
Magracia said she knows that some other women and men are going through what she went through and, “I think it is high time for all of us to come together and face our challenges and speak with one voice.”
She intends to start a support group and is looking for single parents around eMalahleni who wants to be part of the support group.
“I need and want to assist and help the community of single parents to come together. According to my research, there are 60% single parents in South Africa and most of them are suffering from trauma, and we know that trauma is the topic of our country however awareness is not into government consideration,” added Magracia.
She intends to assist her fellow parents and children because the future of the children is in the hands of the parents.
