Groups split to pray at all three hospitals in city
More and more nurses that left the hospital during shift change as they waited for their transport stood outside the hospital singing along to the songs that were played.
‘Manne van die Woord’ and various other congregations from different churches joined together to pray at the three main hospitals in the city.
On Thursday, January 14 at 18:30 three different groups of people and pastors gathered outside Life Cosmos Hospital, eMalahleni Private Hospital and Witbank Provincial Hospital.
The main reason for these prayer evenings is to pray a blessing over the medical staff and front-line workers facing the risk of Covid-19 daily and also the patients who are sick in hospital with the new wave of Covid-19.
The new wave of Covid-19 is reported to be much stronger than the previous wave and more and more people are getting sick, or they are dying.
By Friday, January 15 the total death rate in South Africa was 35 852. In the last 24 hours from January 14 to January 15 a shocking total of 18 503 new cases were reported and 712 Covid-19 deaths were recorded in South Africa.
eMalahleni has also been declared a hot spot.
