Special treatment for Audeamus

Audeamus School is a school for children who need extra attention when it comes to their learning abilities.

They are taught and cared for by dedicated and loving educators who specifically ensure that each child receives the attention that is best suited to them.

Vileen Wichmann-Venter is an educational psychologist who works closely with children with special needs.

She has adopted a programme called ‘Tomatis’, named after its founder Alfred Tomatis, which is a type of therapy that tests the senses of a child who has developmental problems.

Wichmann-Vebter explained the benefits of being on such therapy for both the child and parent as well as gave testimonial on her previous therapies.

Tomatis has been proven to work in a way that calls for synchronisation of energies within the home, the bond between a child and its parents, by making use of the senses. It focuses mostly on hearing as Wichmann-Venter believes that the ear is the central point of any human bodily functions.

“The ear is connected to almost everything in our bodies and an imbalance in emotions or feelings can be deciphered from knowing what is going on inside the ear,” said Wichmann-Venter.

Tomatis has been offered to the parents of children who attend Audeamus Private School as a solution for the hindrances experienced by the child through their development and learning abilities.
