Rape in Phola – Suspect wanted

The Witbank Police FCS (Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences) Unit is urging the community to assist with regard to a wanted suspect in a case of rape that occurred in Phola.

On December 13 the victim, a young female, claims that on the day of the incident she was on her way home at approximately 19:30.

She claims she was walking alone when a silver/grey Toyota Avanza drove behind her with two male occupants.

One of the men called her and when she approached the vehicle the man pointed her with a firearm and forced her inside the vehicle. The two men proceeded to drive with her to a section in Phola called “Iraq”.

The driver of the vehicle proceeded to undress her and rape her at that location. She was later dumped in the same area by the men. The victim was too traumatized to take down or memorize the vehicle registration number.

An identikit of the suspect was compiled with information gathered from the victim. The suspect is believed to be aged between 25 and 30 and was speaking Zulu during the crime. He was of slender build and is tall with short black hair, a stubble beard and brown eyes.
