Black armbands tell their own story

In conclusion, Pastor Daniel Nkutha spokesperson of the Phola CPF, lit a candle for remembering Covid-19 victims and emphasized the importance of the wearing of black armbands

Phola Community Policing Forum (CPF) conducted 16 Days of Activism against Women and Children Abuse, Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and also remembering Covid-19 victims.

This campaign, that was held on Wednesday, November 25 was coloured in by Constable Mathibela from Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) and Ms Olga Maapea from the Department of Social Development (DSD) that presented their speeches on domestic violence and particularly gender-based violence.

Phola detectives branch commander, Captain Akim Mbewe concluded and appealed to the community in attendance to join hands with the police and other stakeholders to break the silence and stop the spread of domestic violence and gender-based violence.
