Cars roar against gender-based violence

So from roaring supercars to GTI’s with extra 'woema' will make everyone look twice on the N4

Sunday will see roaring supercar engines getting together for a breakfast run.

This forms part of the reigning Mrs Mpumalanga Ms Roxy van Bruwaene’s campaign against gender-based violence (GBV). On Sunday, August 30 supercars will gather at Highveld Mall at 08:00.

They will take the road to Milly’s.

“Reports suggest that the number of GBV cases has risen to over 500% since the start of the Covid-19 lockdown pandemic. This diabolical figure is alarming, to say the least. And our communities need to be made aware in a big way,” Roxy said.

She said an event of this genre is ideal, not just because they will be following Covid-19 protocol, but it is also the type of event that speaks to both genders.

So from roaring supercars to GTI’s with extra ‘woema’ will make everyone look twice on the N4.

“Everyone must please wear black to show they are saying #enough and speaking out against GBV,” Roxy said.
