Depatment of Water Affairs appointed Rand Water as an Implementation agent for the Upgrade of Key Bulk Water Infrastructure Programme at Emalahleni Local Municipality and Isiphethu Water Services as a Consulting Engineers and LED Engineers as a contractor.
Part of the scope of works is to clean reservoirs and replace leaking valves in order to improve the water quality and reducing water loses; hence it is necessary that a planned water shutdown is carried out in order to perform this activity on 4 June 2014.
It is anticipated that the planned shutdown will last for 24 hours as per the following table (Please note that water will be shut off midnight the night before 3 June 2014):
