Brandon lives and eats for sport

Brandon is now 14 years old and with it the coming of age to run official 10km races

Brandon Joubert is a name to watch in the future.

He is a 14-year-old boy that stays in eMalahleni but lives and eats for sport.

He plays action cricket and cycles, but his passion is running.

He has been running since he came out of nappies and has a passion for it that shines in his eyes when he talks about his favourite sport.

He has participated in various events in town, including circuit races where he is not scared to clock up high mileage, and cross country, but until his 14th birthday he was not allowed to compete in official 10km races.

He has run the McCarthy Panorama night race 4.9km six consecutive times, winning most of them, but this year his talent became visible for everyone to see.

Brandon is now 14 years old and with it the coming of age to run official 10km races.

On Wednesday, February 19 Brandon competed in the McCarthy Panorama 10km and was the first Junior male to finish.

He also won the Junior male at Rooies 10km in Middelburg two weeks ago.

Brandon has a talent which he is using to his full potential which is seldom seen in young people.

Watch out for him in times to come – We have a future Comrades champion and Olympic runner in town.
