Ed-U-College’s business studies teacher scoops an award for best key subject educator

She started teaching in 1999 after she got her qualification in 1998 in her country of birth, Zimbabwe

Education has paved a lot of people’s success but what about the teachers, the ones who find passion in paving a lot of people’s success?

Ms Tariro Ntabeni has found her success in teaching.

She was recently awarded as the 2019 best educator in business studies in the Nkangala District.

The Mpumalanga Department of Education Nkangala District academic achievement awards ceremony took place on Friday, January 17 at the Nkangala District building in Middelburg.

Ntabeni is a senior phase business studies teacher at Ed-U-College Combined School.

She is proud of her success.

“I am so ecstatic and so proud of my hard work. I am ready to put in more hard work for the next years and honour Ed-U-College because it is not only my victory but the school’s too.”

Ntabeni’s teaching journey has been long.

She started teaching in 1999 after she got her qualification in 1998 in her country of birth, Zimbabwe.

“I taught in Zimbabwe from 1999 to 2008. I started teaching in eMalahleni at Greendale Combined School where I taught a Grade 1 class in 2009. I then moved to Allendale High School in 2012 where I taught business studies and finally joined Ed-U-College Combined School in 2017 and continue to teach business studies,” Ntabeni told her journey.

Initially, Ntabeni qualified to teach English but she fell in love with business studies.

“I developed a passion for the subject ever since my time in Allendale High School and I have chosen to teach it to date,” she said.

Ed-U-College Combined School principal, Ms Ina Loots, is proud of Ntabeni’s achievement.

“We are happy and grateful for Ntabeni’s hard work and achievement and proud to have her.”

As Ntabeni is determined to keep up the good work, she is also determined to keep the title for longer.
