Lindokuhle from Zacheus Malaza Secondary School shines bright

She has been accepted to study medicine at the University of Cape Town

When one talks to Lindokuhle Masangu one gets the sense that she is very focused and know very well what she wants in life.

Masangu of KwaGuqa Extension 11 is the Zacheus Malaza Secondary School learner who scored seven distinctions in last year’s matric results in the following subjects: IsiZulu, English, mathematics, physical science, life science, life orientation and a sixth in computer application technology.

She has been accepted to study medicine at the University of Cape Town.

“I feel very proud about my achievements but at the end of the day nothing comes easy as one need to put in a lot of effort to achieve such, nothing beats hard work. One needs to be focused on their studies and have less time on enjoyment. My favourite subject has always been life sciences and that is why I scored a distinction as I put more effort on it.”

Lindokuhle Masangu obtained seven distinctions in last year’s matric results in the following subjects: IsiZulu, English, mathematics, physical science, life science, life orientation and a sixth in computer application technology. She has been accepted to study medicine at the University of Cape Town.

Masangu added to say it was not easy as they had to come to school at 07:00 till 17:00 and they had a good support system from their teachers and parents.

They also had holiday camps and study groups which helped them a lot.

The school is a maths, sciences and technology school.

“Masangu has been a very consistent learner after she came from Siphedulwe Primary School. She is a very hard worker, dedicated and always in class and participated in class as well,” said Ms Bongiwe Sigudla, principal of Zacheus Malaza Secondary School.

Ms Sigudla thanked the teachers, especially Ms Lissy Mathew for their dedication, the parents as well as the school governing body for the support.

Masangu received an award from Mpumalanga Education MEC Mr Bonakele Majuba at Graceland Casino in Secunda for achieving the best results in life sciences in the province.
