The last week of November was hectic for SAPS Witbank as they made at least three arrests of suspects in possession of illegal drugs.

The uncontrollable increase in drug related crime cases has made it SAPS’s mission to clean the streets of eMalahleni to create a drug free community.

In a recent incident that took place on November 28, a man who was in possession of Crystal Methamphetamine worth R2 400 was arrested at Ext 5 in Allenby Street after being formally reported to the Witbank Police Station by workers who were on patrolling duty in the area of the incident.

Following this, on the same day at different times, members who live in Escombe Street at the Central Business District (CBD) reported two suspicious men dressed in black and white shirts to the Witbank Police Station.

The two suspects were arrested for the possession of illegal drugs.

Furthermore investigations confirmed that the two suspects were also connected to the robbery that took place at a Klarinet shop.

Investigations are still on the way and Witbank SAPS continues to encourage community members of eMalahleni to report any drug related dealings at Crime Stop on 08600 1011.
