Bakone FC stepping up their game as they win 2-0

With strong wind and threatening rain play proved to be hard for both teams but they surge on for goals

Bakone are slowly but surely stepping up their game as they cruise and win their last four games to position themselves at number two on the log.

On Saturday, November 23 they beat Mbombela Citylads 2-0 and earned themselves three points taking them to 22 points, two short of leaders, Sivutsa FC with 24 points.

Citylads started the game attacking with one of their forwards crossing the ball into the danger zone but with no one to finishing off the good work.

In response Bakone had a corner-kick and it failed to find the target.

With their attacks, Citylads failed to penetrate Bakone strong defence wall.

Bakone were also awarded a place-kick after one of their players was brought down, the shot went over the bar.

With the two teams level with no goals it calls upon the home team, Bakone to up their game and they came out of their shell with gun blazing.

They created several chances but they were let down by poor finishing.

Against the run of play one of their strikers came running from the left wing and cross the ball for a player to tap in for an easy goal.

Bakone had good build ups towards the end of the first half as they led 1-0.

In the second half Citylads had a different approach but it did not pay off as Bakone outclass them on the field of play.

Citylads nearly scored when one of their player’s break through but the end result was poor.

Citylads fought hard for an equaliser but that left their back opened for Bakone to attack.

A Citylads player was red carded for rough play.

Bakone have now played 11 games winning seven, drawing one and losing three in the process.

They will play their next game against Gembok Classic on Wednesday, November 27 at KwaMhlanga Ground.
