Police officials from Vosman made there way to the scene and the crowd was soon under control
Protesters took over the N4 highway near Highveld Steel closing the road and throwing rocks at cars passing by.
They are allegedly protesting because they have been without electricity for nearly a week.
This occurred on the morning of Thursday, November 21.

The highway has since been opened and cars are able to make their way to and from eMalahleni again.
Police are still monitoring the scene.
