NO abuse towards woman and children

This means that there 149 women who reported their violation this year alone

Prophet Stella Phetla led a march on violence against women and children to the Emalahleni civic theatre gardens.

On October 26 the march was a response to the current increase in scourge of sexual assault in the city of Emalahleni.

The march aimed to give victims a voice to speak out for the injustice they have suffered.

Sexual assault victims are reported to have increased to 149 in 2019.

This means that there 149 women who reported their violation this year alone.

Given that a large number of women don’t report their violation, the numbers could be higher.

Gateway Church International stands with the violated and gives hope to those who have been violated to say they are not alone, we as part of the community say no to the violence against women and children.

The city of Emalahleni has been declared a rape free city, a city that brings to justice all rape cases and a city that is safe for women and Children.

To this end we will continue to work with the municipality and the police to make practical change in our community as we have already identified the rape hotspots in Emalahleni; we aim to clean and put up boards that warn women and let them know of possible danger.
