Accused granted bail for Ogies shooting

The family was informed by an unknown source of the whereabouts of the suspects and got hold of them in Ogies when the accused allegedly shot them

The man who is accused to be behind the fatal shooting of two suspected robbers in Ogies was recently granted bail.

The accused made his second appearance at Ogies Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, August 27 when he was granted bail after evaluating his intention of shooting and the possibility of not being a danger in the community.

He is expected to make his third appearance on Thursday, October 10.

As reported before based on a media statement by the cluster commander of Witbank Cluster, Major-General Wilson Kekana on August 15, the accused is a family member of a man that was shot by the two deceased suspects in Ermelo in early August.

The family was informed by an unknown source of the whereabouts of the suspects and got hold of them in Ogies when the accused allegedly shot them.

The accused handed himself over at the Ogies Police Station accompanied by his attorney on August 19 and made his first court appearance on August 20.
