Drugs found in the pockets of eMalahleni

This just shows the urgency of getting drugs off the streets and the work implemented by Witbank SAPS

Twelve drug arrests in one week all around eMalahleni – Witbank Police have been busy stopping drugs spreading throughout the streets of the city.

On Friday, August 16, police had a very busy day with a total of six arrests done in one day.

A suspicious person was spotted in Beatty Street in the Central Business District (CBD).

He was searched and was found with three pinches of drugs with an estimated value of R150, another suspicious person was picked up while patrolling in Van Deventer Street in Ext 3 and was found with five pinches of drugs with an estimated value of R300, another two suspects were picked up at two different locations, one being at the CBD at King George Park for possession of dagga and drugs with an estimated value of R700 and the other one in Jelicoe Street in Ext 5; he was found in possession of 40 pinches of drugs with an estimated value of R2 000.

In French Street Ext 5 another suspect was searched and found with an estimated R300 worth of drugs.

The last person was found in Delville Street; all suspects on this day were arrested for possession of drugs.

On Wednesday, August 14 while on duty, four males were spotted in Tasbet Park smoking something.

They were approached and searched and 17 wrapped plastics containing a substance were found and one suspect was arrested.

In De Klerk Street, Klipfontein another suspect was picked up and arrested for being in possession of five wrapped plastics containing a substance with an estimated value of R2 000.

On Wednesday August 14 a male was spotted exchanging something in Botha Street.

He was searched and was found with four plastics containing drugs with an estimated value of R500, the suspect was arrested.

On Tuesday August 13 a male suspect was picked up in Louise Street for possession of 11 hard yellow substances what is suspected to be heroine; after apologising he was arrested.

Then on Monday August 12 another suspect was arrested for possession of 75 pokes of dagga with a street value of R1 000, this happened in Avril Street, Blancheville.

These are some arrests that happened within one week and a lot more to come according to spokesperson from Witbank Police Station, Cpt Eddie Hall that said “Witbank SAPS will keep on cleaning the streets of eMalahleni from drugs until all drug users and sellers are behind bars”.

This just shows the urgency of getting drugs off the streets and the work implemented by Witbank SAPS.
