2019 Nkangala District Open Boxing Championship team trophy was won by ABC Boxing Camp

Well-known boxing legend, promoter and organiser Paul ‘Sika’ Tshehla reported that boxers in the Nkangala District have what it takes to put boxing on the map.

Since they started with the boxing initiative in 2012 the development is yielding positive results, especially with the National Lottery Commission’s funding them and the eMalahleni Local Municipality’s DCSR providing them with a venue (hall) in kindness since this year they indeed made great stride to date.

He said on May 18 and 19 they successfully hosted the Nkangala District Open Boxing Championship at the Lynnville Community Hall with the following clubs taking part: ABC Boxing Camp, Rakwena Boxing Camp and X Boxing Club from Emalahleni Local Municipality, DK Boxing Club, Home Style Boxing and XKT Boxing from Middelburg from the Steve Tshwete Local Municipality, Siyabuswa Boxing Club from Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality and the INYN Boxing Club form Thembisile Hani Local Municipality.

Best boxer in the school boys and girls category trophy went to 11-year-old Motheo Kgothiane of DK Boxing Club, best boxer in the junior boys and girls category trophy was won by Ipfi Ranwashe of DK Boxing Club, best boxer in the youth category was won by Blessing Shongwe of ABC Boxing Camp, best boxer in the elite men and women category was won by Thabo Makofane of DK Boxing Club.

2019 Nkangala District Open Boxing Championship team trophy was won by ABC Boxing Camp.

“The 2019 Mpumalanga Provincial Open Boxing Championship was hosted by Ehlanzeni District in Mbombela on June 8 and 9. Ehlanzeni District, Gert Sibande District and Nkangala District were pitted against each other and in the end the team trophy was won by the Nkangala District,” explained Tshehla.
