One more day, one more hijacking

The victim told police that an old lady was hiking and he stopped

Hijackings are a never ending story and there is more each day.

On Tuesday, April 16 a vehicle was hijacked on the Verena road.

Just after the sun set to indicate the end of the day, a man was driving a Hyundai along abovementioned road when a white Toyota Corolla came speeding past, and the car had no registration number.

The victim told police that the Corolla then suddenly swerved in front of him and to avoid bumping the Corolla, the driver of the Hyundai slammed on his brakes.

Two men, with covered faces came straight toward him with pointing guns.

He was pulled out of the driver seat and drove with him to the cemetery next to the N4 highway and drove off with his vehicle.

On April 12 it was no different when a man was driving a company vehicle on the N12 around 18:00.

The victim told police that an old lady was hiking and he stopped.

He added that a few seconds after that, three men approached him and opened the doors of the Mercedes Benz he was driving.

The suspects allegedly told the victim that if he does not keep quiet, they will shoot him, although he did not see a gun.

The victim added that the suspects tied his hands with socks and dropped him at an unknown location.

He did add that they drove for what felt like forever.

These cases are still under investigation by the Witbank Police.
