The man who was found dead inside a black Polo on the N4 next to Balmoral was identified as renowned journalist and editor of Ezweni News.
Mr Jabu Yende said the death of his brother Mr Welcome Thobejane is a huge shock to the family.
“We do not know what happened after Welcome left for church in Pretoria at 04:00 on April 10,” Yende said.
Sergeant Khomotso Maluleke, Vosman police spokesperson said a complaint was received of a vehicle parked on the side of the N4 route next to Balmoral.
“Upon the police’s arrival they found Mr Thobejane tied with a rope around his neck, hands and legs on the back seat. He was beaten.”
A case of murder is being investigated.

“My brother would not harm anyone. He was a gentleman who loved his family,” Yende said.
Thobejane was laid to rest on Thursday, April 18 at Kromdraai Cemetery.
