Subpoena the reason for postponement

This assault led to Mthunzi ending up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

It’s been a year since the racial fight broke out at a local restaurant in eMalahleni and still after a trial date was set, there is no outcome for the justice of Mthunzi Sibuyi.

WITBANK NEWS stated in an article in 2018 about the then 21-year-old Mthunzi that got beaten up after one night out with his friends.

This assault led to Mthunzi ending up in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

On October 2018 after the court’s postponements, they settled on a trial date for April 8 to 10 but as the first day came, the accused, Mr Koos Els did not pitch up.

On the second day the state witnesses along with Mthunzi had a chance to give their statements.

“The outcome of this trial was yet again postponed due to two more state witnesses that had to be subpoenaed,” Mthunzi said.

This case was postponed until May 30.
