Three medals from Loskop Marathon for academy

Nkangala Athletic Academy managed to get three category prizes during the Loskop Marathon held at Middelburg recently.

The marathon was held on Saturday, April 12.

Out of 3 234 participants in the 50km race, Jappie Jele came fifth, taking the last male category prize and being the first Mpumalanga athlete to cross the line.

John Thipe finished fourth in the 21.1km Loskop Wild Challenge Race. Out of 1 541 participants, Simanga Mabuza placed third in the Junior Category.  “This is an outstanding achievement for Nkangala Athletic Academy and Mpumalanga as a whole. It is tough to get something out of the best national athletes, it really shows that we are heading in the right direction of developing talent in our location,” said Emmanuel Mabaso, chairperson of the academy.

He thanked their sponsor for paying the entry into the race.
