Last week in the space of three days two vehicles were hijacked and the suspects used their firearms to get the vehicles.

The first incident occurred on Friday, November 23 at approximately 19:30. Mr Benedict Maile alleged that he was driving his red Kia Rio and he was bumped at the back by another vehicle.

Maile then stopped and climbed out of his vehicle, so did the driver of the blue Volkswagen. That is when two unknown men got out of the vehicle and they checked the damage.

Then another two men got out of the vehicle, one was armed with a firearm.

The men that climbed out last of the vehicle allegedly pushed Maile into the back of the vehicle and drove off with him.
His hands were tied up with shoe laces and they searched him for his personal belongings.

The suspects then drove to a bank where money was withdrawn from his account. Once the suspects had the money in their possession, they left Maile by the bank and drove off in both cars.

The second hijacking occurred on Wednesday, November 21 at 21:15 when Ms Annah Mdaka alleged that she was with her boyfriend, they parked their car and they were talking when three unknown men approached them.

One of the men was armed with a firearm; that is when Mdaka’s boyfriend ran away and the suspect fired a shot at him.

The other two suspects put Mdaka inside the car and they drove off in her boyfriend’s car.

They demanded that Mdaka hands over her bank card and pin number; the suspects went to a bank and withdraw money.

Once they had the money, the suspects left and Mdaka was left at the bank, the car was not taken.

Her boyfriend was shot in his arm and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
