Just before 17:00 on Thursday, November 15 a BMW hit a pedestrian walking next to the road.

Eye witnesses told WITBANK NEWS that the driver was ‘spinning’ his way through Lana and Gerda Streets.

This led to him allegedly lose control of his vehicle and he hit a pedestrian.

The driver of the vehicle however said he lost control of his car due to the wet road.

Mr Kingdom Mabuza, municipal spokesperson commented on the incident:

“Spinning cars in any public place is illegal. The pedestrian who was hit by the vehicle must approach police to open a case. We wish the said pedestrian a speedy recovery. In the event that our law enforcement is alerted to such illegal activities on public roads and any other public space, harsh action will be taken against those involved.”

The case is currently still under investigation.
