There have been hijackings non stop taking place in our city the past few weeks. This leaves residents frightened and often vehicle less.

On Saturday, November 3, a man was driving his white Toyota Quantum in Kiepersol Street.

He stopped at the red traffic light, and that was when he was approached by three unknown males. One of the men came to the driver’s side and the other two opened other doors of the Quantum.

“The man that approached me held a gun towards my head when he asked if I was going to town,” the driver explained.

“The man told me to move and he got in behind the wheel.”

Allegedly the suspect with the firearm then hit the driver in the face with the gun. He was then pushed to the back seat and the suspect took off.

“I was dropped off in a bush and when I woke up I did not know where I was, when I asked someone they said I’m in Delmas,” concluded the driver.

The registration number for the Quantum is HVB 224 MP. No one has yet been arrested in regards to this crime.

On Thursday, November 1, a man was standing in Jellicoe Street along with his friend next to his Polo TSI when an unknown man holding a gun appeared. The suspect allegedly ordered the men to get into the Polo. Allegedly the suspect drove all the way to Verena when the vehicle ran out of petrol.

“When he stopped at the garage to fill up, he put me in the boot,” said one of the victims.

The suspect allegedly then drove off again to where he met other people just outside Verena.

Allegedly they then stripped the Polo to search for a tracker. The suspects then removed the victim from the boot and forced him along with his friend to lay face down on the grass.

“He then said to me to give him my All Star tekkies, he took my shoes and left,” the victim concluded.

Police are still investigating this case as no arrests have yet been made.
