The municipality is not honouring their payment agreement with Eskom and the Eskom’s debt has skyrocketed to over R2-billion.

In eight months the municipality’s monthly account for electricity consumed amounted to approximately R691-million.

Of this the municipality has only paid more or less R301-million. This is a shortfall of R390-million.
