Friend(z), fun and motorbikes

Good friend(z), fine company, loads of fun - if you have all of these you have the recipe for a spectacular day.

And that is precisely what Friendz Riders Motorcycle Club (MCC) accomplished with their Day-jol on Saturday, March 29, a jolly good get together.

More than 300 motorbike enthusiasts gathered at Reyno Ridge Club for the Day-jol.

As customary to most Day-jols, there were a lot of games, mouth watering food and of course the bar ladies ran around keeping everyone’s glasses full.

For the games part Clint Groenewald from Private Riders MCC won the down-down. He sucked up a beer through two straws within seconds.

Juanita Pienaar won the ladies down-down.
The Parrot Riders MCC showed their strength with the tug-of-war, and the ladies team representing the Private Riders MCC walked away with the honours in the ladies tug-of-war ‘battle’.

Tertius de Lange from Black Beards MCC had his sights set and he won the tyre throw for men.
Michelle Booysen from Blaze of Glory MCC had no trouble securing the tyre around the pole. Among loud cheer she was called up to collect her trophy.

The ‘walk-a-plank’ item had the bikers in stitches with laughter as it proved much harder than it looked. But in the end and after a few  ’finals’ it was the Parrot Riders MCC that was called up to collect their trophy, and in the ladies section it was the team from the Dreggs in whose clubhouse the trophy now proudly stands.

The biggest club represented on the day was Itchy Wheels MCC.

Stephan Ludwick put his hand deep in his pocket and paid R850 for a ’collector’s item’ bottle of Shivas Regal.  The proceeds of the auctioning of the bottle of Shivas Regal will be donated to hospice.

All in all the Friendz Riders MCC deserves a round of applause for a well organised event.
